The volume file browser does not open
Symptom
In Volumes in the lab panel, you click a volume's magnifying glass and the browser keeps loading indefinitely. There is no error message.
Cause
The browser is one more piece that runs within your size's budget (about 0.4 CPU and 1.25 GB). If your running notebooks already use the whole budget, there is no room left to launch it and it is rejected without warning.
How to confirm it
In Studio, the lab chips show CPU or memory in use at the limit or very close to it. Stop a notebook and click the magnifying glass again: if it opens, this was the cause.
Solution
- Stop the notebook you are not using, or lower its resources (edit it with 0.5 CPU and 1.5 GB less).
- Open the browser again from Volumes.
- To avoid it, size your notebooks according to the table in Advanced configuration.
